Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his team just one percent chance of sealing their place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League by getting the better of Real Madrid.
The Merseyside outfit slumped to a heavy 5-2 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie at Anfield. Liverpool have a three-goal deficit heading into the second leg against Real Madrid which will take place at Santiago Bernabeu.
Liverpool will have to pull off a sensational result if they want to secure their passage to the next stage of the Champions League. They will have to turn the tie around in the second leg, but Jurgen Klopp knows it would be difficult as he gave Liverpool just one percent chance of knocking Real Madrid out of UCL.
Speaking ahead of the second-leg match between Real Madrid and Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp said. “What I said after the game three weeks ago was that Madrid are through to the next round.”
Liverpool had got off to a sensational start in the first leg at Anfield. The Premier League side took a two-goal lead inside the first 15 minutes. But Real Madrid pulled off a stellar comeback to get the better of Jurgen Klopp and co.
Liverpool go into the game against Real Madrid on the back of a shock 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in Premier League in their most recent fixture. Real Madrid, meanwhile, head into the fixture on the back of their 3-1 defeat of Espanyol.
The match between Real Madrid and Liverpool will kick off at 1:30 am Indian Standard Time on March 16.
