Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has said he wants to stay at the defending La Liga champions but revealed he has not spoken with Los Blancos to discuss a new deal.

Dani Ceballos has entered the final six months of his current contract with Real Madrid. His current deal with Real Madrid is due to expire at the end of the season, and he and the club have not yet reached an agreement over extending his stay.

If I think about the renewal, I think I’m wrong. It’s time to enjoy football and now I can take another step with the national team. It is what it touches.

The Spanish midfielder also revealed other clubs have approached him but insisted he is only focused on the present.

He said focusing on the approaches he has received from other clubs would be a lack of respect for Real Madrid, his teammates, and Carlo Ancelotti.

I had contacts with some teams, but focusing now on the outside would be, with three competitions ahead, a lack of respect for my club, my teammates, and my coach. You have to be focused on those 15 or 20 games that we have left,” Dani Ceballos said.

Dani Ceballos also said: “Both the club and my teammates know that my dream is to continue. But I want a renewal if I deserve it, a renewal to be happy and play, not like the last few years. If not, thank you very much, and continue on my way.

Dani Ceballos has featured in 31 games across all competitions for Real Madrid so far this season. He has a goal and six assists to his name in those matches.

Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos has received a call-up to the Spain national football team for their upcoming matches during the March international break. He has been named in the Spain squad for their UEFA EURO Qualifiers matches against Norway and Scotland.
