Al-Nassr Manager Rudi Garcia Responds to Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer Speculation
Cristiano Ronaldo is currently a free agent without a club after he and Manchester United terminated his contract by mutual agreement. The Portuguese superstar re-joined Manchester United in the summer of 2021 on a two-year contract with an option for a further year.
But the 37-year-old’s stay at Manchester United was cut short after he effectively burned bridges with the Premier League club after sitting down for an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Among those Cristiano Ronaldo criticized in the controversial interview was Erik ten Hag, Manchester United manager, and the Glazer family, owners of the club. Manchester United and Ronaldo then agreed to terminate his contract with the club by mutual agreement.
“You know me, I’m not talking about this story. Let’s wait. Our championship is about to start again.”
Meanwhile, Portugal were knocked out of FIFA World Cup 2022 after defeat to Morocco in the quarter-finals. Portugal had qualified for the round-of-16 after finishing atop the points table in Group H. They took on Switzerland in the round-of-16 and romped to a 6-1 win over them to seal their place in the quarter-finals.
However, Morocco inflicted a shock 1-0 defeat on Portugal in the quarter-finals to eliminate the EURO 2016 winners from the latest edition of FIFA’s flagship event.
Cristiano Ronaldo started the game against Morocco on the bench before Fernando Santos brought him on in the 51st minute of the game. However, CR7 failed to help his side find an equalizer against Morocco.
