Aurelien Tchouameni Resumes Training: Aurelien Tchouameni has resumed training with Real Madrid in a welcome update for the defending La Liga champions ahead of their match against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish top-flight.
Aurelien Tchouameni had missed Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Osasuna and the Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash with Liverpool. The French midfielder missed the match against Osasuna due to flu.
The 23-year-old did not recover in time for Real Madrid’s trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League. He was not part of the Real Madrid squad that faced Liverpool in the first leg.
Melchor Ruiz reports that Toni Kroos also took part in the team training along with the returning Aurelien Tchouameni.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid already trails Barcelona by eight points in the race for the La Liga title. They will be aiming for nothing less than a win against Atletico Madrid and maintain pressure on table-toppers Barcelona.
Real Madrid, who are the defending champions, sit second in the La Liga table behind Barcelona. They have 51 points from 22 matches in the Spanish top flight so far this season. Real Madrid have won 16, drawn three, and lost three matches in La Liga so far in the 22/23 campaign.
