Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal? The favourites to sign Raphinha revealed
The front-runners to sign Leeds United and Brazil winger Raphinha this summer have been revealed.
The Brazilian international has been linked with several clubs of late, with a brief summary of the saga so far unveiled below.
For several weeks, it was Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who were the side most heavily linked with Raphinha and, despite no deal being completed, it did look as though the winger was Emirates bound.
That was until mid-June, when various reports emerged suggesting that Chelsea were close to agreeing a deal with Leeds for their star winger.
Then, despite Barcelona’s financial crisis, it was the Catalan powerhouse who were believed to be the winger’s first choice landing spot.
But, because of the monetary woes being faced by Barcelona, Leeds were understood to prefer Chelsea’s proposal, albeit with the player himself remaining intent to move to Spain.
A further report then suggested that Chelsea had turned their attentions to another target, leaving the door open for Arsenal to swoop in and snatch Raphinha from under the nose of a cash-strapped Barca.
However, with the 2022/23 season now less than a month away, Raphinha is still yet to move clubs.
Betfair have therefore provided a list of favourites when it comes to the winger’s suitors.
Barcelona are the current leaders with odds of 2/5 despite their financial issues. This is followed by Chelsea who can currently be backed at odds of 7/4 to land the Leeds star.
And finally, Arsenal are clear outsiders with odds of 25/1 to sign Raphinha in the 2022 summer window.
