Benfica President Confirms They Will Let Enzo Fernandez Leave If Release Clause is Met

Amid the interest some European heavyweights have shown in Enzo Fernandez, Benfica president Rui Costa has confirmed they will let the Argentine leave if his release clause is met.
Fernandez’s current contract with Benfica runs until 2027. That means he has more than four years left on his current deal with the Portuguese club.
Since joining Benfica, Enzo Fernandez has featured in 24 games for the Portuguese outfit. He has scored three goals and bagged five assists for Benfica in those matches.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Chelsea or any other clubs interested in the services of Fernandez will trigger the release clause in his contract and land the Argentine midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window.
