Carlo Ancelotti Backs Vinicius Jr To Be Among The Best
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has lavished praise on Vinicius Jr, who he backed to become among the best footballers in the world.
The Brazilian international has established himself as a key player for Real Madrid and has been impressive for the Spanish behemoths in the current campaign.
Real Madrid and Barcelona squared off in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg, and it was Los Blancos who emerged triumphant. Barcelona had secured a 1-0 win in the first leg and had an edge heading into the second leg. But a goal from Vinicius Jr on the stroke of half time and a second-half hattrick from Karim Benzema helped Real Madrid secure their passage to the Copa del Rey final.
Carlo Ancelotti added: “In the Spanish environment they don’t treat him It’s totally fine, but he’s very focused on what he does. He’s very serious. I’m not saying he’ll make football history, but he’ll surely be among the best in the world in the next 10 years.”
Meanwhile, Real Madrid remains in contention for La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League titles this season.
In the Champions League, they have qualified for the quarter-finals where they will square off with Premier League side Chelsea. In Copa del Rey final, Real Madrid will face Osasuna.
However, in La Liga, Real Madrid trails table-toppers Barcelona by 12 points. Unless Barcelona bottles such a big lead, Real Madrid will not be able to lift the league title this season.
