Cristiano Ronaldo is My Idol, Says Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has named Portugal and Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as his idol.
Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the best footballers the world has ever seen. The 37-year-old has been playing at the senior level for two decades now. He and a certain Lionel Messi dominated the footballing world for more than a decade during their heydays.
Ronaldo has inspired several young footballers, and many consider the Portuguese striker as their idol. Ronaldo, despite his on-field struggles this season, is still considered one of the best footballers in the world.
21-year-old Georgian footballer Kvaratskhelia has named Ronaldo as his idol and also revealed who his idol was before he became the Man Utd icon.
Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli in July earlier this year. Napoli signed the winger from Dinamo Batumi. His current contract with the Italian side runs until 2027.
Kvaratskhelia has hit the ground running at his new club. He has so far made 11 appearances for Napoli and has already racked up six goals.
Meanwhile, Napoli have had a stellar start to the 22/23 season. They sit top of the Serie A points table with 20 points from their first eight matches. They are unbeaten in the league with six wins and two draws.
Napoli have so far maintained a perfect run in the Champions League 22/23 campaign. They are the table-toppers in Group A with three wins from three matches. One of those wins came against English behemoths Liverpool, who they thrashed 4-1 in their CL 22/23 opener.
Kvaratskhelia will be aiming to continue delivering the goods and help his side maintain their good form going forward.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has had a difficult start to the 22/23 season. The Portuguese attacker has featured in nine matches for Man Utd but has only scored one goal.
Ronaldo has also seemingly lost his place in the Man Utd starting XI. The star striker has made it to the starting XI only on four occasions. The rest were appearances off the bench. He was also an unused substitute when Man Utd faced Manchester City in their previous match in the Premier League.
