David Seaman has said that Bukayo Saka’s penalty miss in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw vs West Ham will be seen as a pivotal moment in the Premier League title race if the Gunners fail to win the league title this season.
Arsenal, who sit atop the Premier League points table, dropped two important points in their most recent fixture after throwing away a two-goal lead. West Ham, after trailing the game by two goals inside the first 10 minutes, clawed their way back into the game with two goals.
However, Bukayo Saka missed a penalty to make it 3-1 for Arsenal in the 52nd minute of the game. West Ham scored their second goal of the match just two minutes later.
He also said Bukayo Saka’s penalty miss in the draw against West Ham would be seen as a pivotal moment if Arsenal fail to win the Premier League title this season.
“When you look at the defending for the penalty, I don’t know what Gabriel Magalhaes was thinking. It’s frustrating. Bukayo Saka’s penalty is a deciding moment in the game. If we don’t win the league, that will be remembered as a pivotal point.
“The first half an hour we were fantastic. But we didn’t go up a gear, we went down a gear. We took our foot off the gas and it’s disappointing, but it’s still not over (the title race).”
Meanwhile, Arsenal will take on Southampton, who languish at 18th in the Premier League, in their next game.
