Gary Neville Backs Man Utd For Top-Four Finish in Premier League

Gary Neville has backed Manchester United to make a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils have bounced back from a disastrous start to the 22/23 season and they sit fifth in the points table.

Manchester United then faced Brentford in an away fixture and suffered a humiliating defeat. In a disastrous performance, Man Utd lost the game to the home side 4-0.

The Red Devils, however, have only lost one game in the league since defeats in their opening two fixtures. They have since played 10 games in the English top flight and registered seven wins, two draws, and a defeat in those matches.

Man Utd’s latest victory in the Premier League came against West Ham United on Sunday. They hosted West Ham at Old Trafford and won the game 1-0.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game, finding the net with a towering header in the 38th minute of the match to earn Man Utd all three points.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Neville said Man Utd have a ‘great chance’ of making a top-four finish this season.

I think they’ve got a great chance of finishing in the top four now, a great chance,” Neville said. “There’s enough going on at Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham for United to feel confident that they can push through that bunch. I never would have thought that four or five weeks ago.”

Meanwhile, the win over West Ham takes Man Utd’s point tally to 23 points from 12 matches. They are two points ahead of Chelsea, and seven points clear of Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, sits third in the table, with 26 points from 13 games. But Spurs have played a game more than Man Utd have.

Man Utd, meanwhile, are eight points behind Arsenal, who top the table. The Gunners secured an emphatic 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. That result takes them back to the top of the table, where they have 31 points from 12 matches.
