Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has asked the board to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol during the summer window. The Croatia international is currently among the most promising defenders in Europe.
He joined the Red Bulls from Prva HNL during the summer window of 2021. Josko Gvardiol has played 78 games (in all competitions) for the German outfit thus far, registering five goals and four assists. The 21-year-old defender played a key role in Croatia’s third-place finish at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Jurgen Klopp wants to rebuild the Reds squad next summer following an underwhelming campaign this term. Strengthening midfield will be his key priority, while his team’s defence also needs reinforcements.
Gvardiol is valued at €80 million and is ready to leave the German outfit next summer. Manchester United, Real Madrid and Chelsea have also shown interest in signing him in recent weeks.
While speaking to the media earlier this season, the Croatia international admitted that Liverpool is his dream club. He said: “My dream club? That would definitely be Liverpool. Since I was little, I watched a lot of their matches with my dad. We covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart.”
As reported by SportsBild, Liverpool are keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani to replace Roberto Firmino. The Brazil international has announced his decision to leave Anfield upon the expiration of his contract next summer.
Randal Kolo Muani has established himself as among the most talented attackers in the Bundesliga since joining the Frankfurt outfit from Nantes last summer. The France international has registered 11 goals and 12 assists in 24 German top-division games so far.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in securing his services. The Reds will have to pay a hefty transfer fee in order to bring him to Anfield at the end of the season.
Liverpool will lock horns against Manchester City in a league game at the Etihad Stadium after the international break on April 1.
