Juventus Keeping an Eye on Marcus Rashford
Marcus Rashford joined the academy of Manchester United at the age of seven. The forward then progressed through the ranks and made it to the senior team.
After his promotion to the senior squad, the English forward did not take much time to settle. He announced himself with a brace in his first-team debut. Rashford cemented his spot in the starting lineup and won the Europa League with the Red Devils. He then represented England in two Euros and one World Cup.
Marcus Rashford became one of the best forwards in the world at a very early age. However, multiple injuries stopped his development. As a result, he lost his form and then his place in the United team.
Upon the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Marcus Rashford found his form back. The Dutch gaffer kept his trust in the forward and gave him a long run in the starting eleven. Rashford then showed consistency in front of the goal. He has already netted five goals and provided three assists in eight matches so far.
Meanwhile, Rashford’s current contract with Manchester United is coming to an end at the end of the season. United have a one-year extension option but they are yet to use it. So if they fail to do so, the forward will become a free agent.
After a decade-long dominance in the Serie-A, Juventus are currently going through a transition period. The Bianconeri did not get a good start this season too. They have won only three out of their first eight matches in Serie-A. Juventus also lost their first two UEFA Champions League matches.
Juventus management now understands the situation perfectly well. They want to add to more quality players to their team and are looking at multiple free agents. Hence the interest in Rashford.
The reports further suggest that the Bianconeri asked about the English forward during the last summer window too. They will now look to sign once again next season.
Earlier during the summer transfer window, Rashford was rumoured to join Paris Saint-Germain. The deal however never happened and the English forward is now one of the main players for Erik ten Hag.
The forward is currently calm about his contract situation and there is no hurry for him to sign an extension deal. The first object for him will be to carry his good form and earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s England team for the Qatar World Cup 2022.
