Juventus Keeping an Eye on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

After spending some time in the academy of Grazer AK, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic joined the youth setup of Vojvodina. He then graduated from Vojvodina academy and was promoted to the senior team.

Milinkovij-Savic played only one season for Vojvodina’s senior team and won the Serbian Cup. He then joined the Belgian team Genk. In his only season with the club, Milinkovic-Savic made 24 appearances while netting 5 goals.

He was then signed by Italian club Lazio at the start of the 2015/16 season. The Serbian then established himself at Lazio and became one of the most important players on their squad. He has so far made over 250 appearances for the club and has won one Coppa Italia and two Supercoopa Italiana.

27-year-old Serbian midfielder Sergej Milikovic-Savic is currently one of the best midfielders in Serie-A. He is a consistent performer for Lazio and has been linked with several top clubs before.

The Serbian’s contract at Lazio is coming to an end within the next two years. And according to Calciomercato, Lazio is already working on his contract renewal. They want to offer the Serbian a deal that will keep him at the club until 2026.

After dominating Serie-A for a decade, Juventus are currently going through a transition period. They have not got an ideal start to the current season and won only three out of their first five matches.

So Juventus board is now looking at multiple options to bolster their squad. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is obviously a very quality player and will give the Binaconeri midfield a very big boost.

The reports further suggest Juventus are looking to include players in the Sergej Milinkovi-Savic deal. However, Lazio president Lotito does not want any players and will only accept if Juve pays cash.

But even then, it will be a very tough operation for Juventus to pull off. Earlier, Paris Saint-Germain was heavily linked with the midfielder. But their offer did not please Lazio’s president. Hence the deal failed.

Juventus will play AC Milan in their next outing.
