Kevin de Bruyne Misses Manchester City Training Ahead of Tottenham Clash
Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne missed training on Tuesday ahead of the defending Premier League champions’ clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the English top flight.
It was Kevin de Bruyne who provided the assist for Jack Grealish’s goal against Manchester City, which sent them ahead in the game. However, Manchester United would score two goals later to secure all three points from the fixture.
Kevin de Bruyne has largely been impressive for Manchester City in the 22/23 season. The 31-year-old has featured in 25 games across all competitions for Manchester City so far in the 22/23 season.
He has also racked up three goals and amassed 16 assists for Manchester City in the ongoing campaign.
While Kevin de Bruyne missed training, Ruben Dias returned to Manchester City training on Tuesday. The Portuguese centre-back had missed the last few games due to a thigh injury.
John Stones, who had missed Man City’s clash with Man Utd last week, also took part in the training session on Tuesday in another welcome news for Pep Guardiola and co.
Meanwhile, like Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur also heads into the fixture between the two sides on the back of a defeat. Tottenham Hotspur hosted Premier League table-toppers Arsenal in their last game and suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Gunners.
Against Arsenal, Tottenham conceded their first goal of the match through a Hugo Lloris own goal. Arsenal then doubled their lead through a long-range strike from Martin Odegaard. The Gunners then saw off the match to pick up three points from the fixture.
The defeat leaves Tottenham Hotspur fifth in the Premier League points table with 33 points from 19 matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City continues to sit second in the points table with 39 points from 18 matches. But they are now eight points short of Arsenal’s tally.
