Manchester City Intends to Give Erling Haaland a New Deal
Erling Haaland joined the academy of Bryne at a very early age. He then graduated from the club and was promoted to the main team. Haaland made his senior team debut with the Norwegian club. However, after one season he joined Molde.
After playing a few games with the reserve team of Molde, Haaland got his chances with the senior team. He stayed two seasons with the club before moving to Austria and joining RB Salzburg. After joining Salzburg, Haaland finally got his breakthrough when he scored in his five UEFA Champions League matches. This resulted in him becoming one of the highest-rated prospects in the world.
Haaland got contracts from many clubs but the Norwegian striker decided to join Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in 2019. He continued his stellar goalscoring form and established himself as one of the best players in the world. The Norwegian scored 86 goals in 89 appearances for the Bundesliga giants and played two and half seasons for them.
English Premier League giants Manchester City signed Erling Haaland at the start of the season after paying his release clause worth £51 million to Dortmund.
Haaland took no time to settle into his new club and established himself as the most important player in the Manchester City squad.
The Norwegian goal machine has already netted 14 goals in 10 appearances for the Citizens. This also includes two back-to-back Premier League hattricks against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. And now Haaland is going get the reward for his brilliant form.
Haaland currently earns around £375,000 per week and is the joint highest earner at the club along with Kevin De Bruyne. His pay rise will make him the highest earner in City.
Earlier Haaland’s father revealed in the documentary that Haaland has an intention to play in all the top five leagues and test himself. This report comes just after that.
Now has done something similar in recent years when they gave a pay rise to the players like Ederson, Bernardo Silva, and Aymeric Laporte after a brilliant first year at Manchester.
Haaland is currently one of the best young strikers in the world. City obviously wants to keep its biggest asset for many years, so the pay rise is justified.
Manchester City have got a great start to their title defense. The Citizens have won five out of their last seven matches and are the only undefeated team in the league. They are currently at the second position in the table and are four points behind Arsenal. However, City have played one less match than the Gunners and will face their arch-rivals Manchester United later today.
