Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur Is Predicted by Rio Ferdinand
Tottenham Hotspur is now third in the league and this game is vital to retain their position in the league table. Whereas Manchester United will like to win this game to challenge Chelsea for the 4th spot for now.
During the pre-match conference, Conte recalled the memory of last season’s game. He praised Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance with his hat trick.
The Italian spoke: “We’re talking about an incredible player, a top player. We’re talking about a player who continues to make a difference for the team in which he plays. I have a lot of admiration for Cristiano, for his professionalism, but I hope he will remain calm, not like last season when he scored three goals. We lost 3-2, but we lost to him, not to United last season.”
By these comments, Conte may have criticised Ten Hag’s treatment of Ronaldo. He praised Ronaldo’s game and especially his professionalism.
Ferdinand gave his verdict about the upcoming game. His prediction does have some sense. The former England defender predicted that this game may lack too many goals.
The BBC pundit shared his view, as he said: “I think Conte, Spurs, Kane, Richarlison is out injured. The game is there for us to win. I think it will be tight, I don’t think it will be a free-scoring game, but there will be stuff for us in there for us to react to.”
“It depends though, will Rashford start? Will Cristiano start? Does he go with the same team? I don’t think there’s much between the teams, but United should be going out and saying they’re winning this game”.
Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur is depending on counter-attacking football and that has given his team a great run of form. But interestingly, Manchester United is also following the same tactical method under Ten Hag.
This game will be interesting for Tottenham Hotspur, as some of their top players will miss out on the game. And Conte will have to depend on his new signings more.
