Manchester United star Marcus Rashford turned down a lucrative contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, according to a report in The Athletic.
Marcus Rashford, who has been sensational for Manchester United in the ongoing campaign, has a contract that runs until 2024 with the Old Trafford outfit. That is after Manchester United activated a one-year extension in his contract in December 2022.
Marcus Rashford had endured a rather underwhelming and disappointing campaign with Manchester United in the 21/22 season. The English attacker only managed to register just five goals in 32 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils last season.
Rashford was also linked with a move away from Manchester United last summer, and Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly interested in his services. And, The Athletic reports that PSG made a lucrative contract offer to Rashford last summer.
The Athletic also reports that initial discussions between Manchester United and Marcus Rashford’s representatives over a new contract have already been held and more are planned. However, there have been no major steps.
As things stand now, Marcus Rashford will enter the final year of his current contract with Manchester United next season.
Manchester United will be hoping and aiming to tie down Marcus Rashford to a new contract. He has established himself as one of the club’s most important players under manager Erik ten Hag.
He has appeared in 44 games across all competitions for Manchester United so far this season, starting in 36 of those. That shows how regular a starter and a key player Rashford has been for Manchester United this season.
