Neymar’s Surprised Reaction to the Inclusion of Gabriel Martinelli in the 26-Man Brazilian World Cup Squad

Several Samba players filmed their reactions to the World Cup squad announcement and posted footage on their social media accounts.

But surprisingly, fans pointed out Neymar’s facial reaction when two Arsenal forwards Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli’s names were announced.

The footage shows that Neymar was pleased to hear Gabriel Jesus’s name but was surprised by Martinelli’s name. But he tried to hide his expression, as he knew he was being recorded.

But surprisingly, Firmino’s name was missing when the official announcement from Tite came out. Martinelli is performing consistently with the Gunners, as his club is currently the league leader of the English Premier League.

Brazil has probably the most talented players in every department except the defence. Many Brazilian defenders will probably feature for the last time in the World Cup.

The squad consists of Liverpool’s Alisson, Manchester City’s Ederson and Palmeiras’s Weverton as goalkeepers.

In defence, they have the names of Pumas’s Daniel Alves, Juventus’s Danilo, Bremer, and Alex Sandro, Sevilla’s Alex Telles, Real Madrid’s Eder Militao, PSG’s Marquinhos, and Chelsea’s Thiago Silva as well.

In the midfield department, Brazil has also a lot of talent. They have the names like Newcastle’s star man Bruno Guimarães, Manchester United’s Casemiro, Liverpool’s Fabinho, Manchester United’s Fred, Flamengo’s Everton Ribeiro, and West Ham’s new signing Lucas Paqueta.

Brazil’s attack includes players like Antony from Manchester United, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo from Real Madrid, Raphinha from Barcelona, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal, Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur, and finally PSG star man Neymar as well.

Almost all the major Brazilian Premier League names have featured in the squad except Firmino. Looking at Tite’s squad list, Dani Alves is perhaps the most surprising pick. The 39-year-old has 124 caps for Brazil and this will be his final World Cup journey with Thiago Silva.

Neymar is having his most brilliant season at PSG this year. He has scored 15 goals and has provided 12 assists so far in his 19 appearances in all competitions. This year may be Neymar’s final chance to grab the World Cup. The Brazilian superstar will become 34 when the next World Cup will come up.
