Premier League Clubs ‘Tracking’ Celtic Youngster Liel Abada

A number of Premier League clubs are keeping a tab on Israel national football and Celtic attacker Liel Abada, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old has been playing for Scottish Premiership side Celtic since signing for the club in the summer of 2021. Liel Abada joined Celtic on a five-year contract. He has been impressive for Celtic since joining the club.

Liel Abada primarily plies his trade as a right winger, but can also play as a left winger and a centre-forward. He has featured in 24 games for the Celtic so far in the 22/23 season and has already racked up nine goals. The Israel national football team star has also registered four assists for the Scottish club in the 22/23 season.

Since signing for Celtic, he has featured in 76 games across all competitions for the club and has amassed 24 goals – 15 of which he produced in the 21/22 season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a number of Premier League clubs are following the Celtic with a view to a potential transfer move in the future. However, Celtic want to keep Liel Abada, who they consider a key player, at the club.

Celtic consider Abada as a key player and they want to keep him at all costs, even if PL clubs are tracking him.

Liel Abada has more than three years left on his current contract with Celtic. As aforementioned, he signed a five-year contract upon joining the club in 2021. That deal runs until 2026.

The fact that he has more than three years left on his deal with Celtic will reinforce the Scottish club’s position in negotiations should Premier League clubs make a move for Abada.

Meanwhile, Abada made his debut for Israel’s national football team in June 2021. He has so far featured in nine games for Israel’s national football team. Abada has also scored a goal for Israel – that came against Iceland in a UEFA Nations League 22/23 match.
