PSG Transfer News: Ligue 1 Champions Hold Talks Over Move for Marcus Rashford
PSG are interested in the England international, and Rashford’s representatives have been in Paris to discuss a possible transfer with the Ligue 1 giants.
However, Daily Mail also reports that Man Utd is relaxed about the situation, with Rashford happy at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old attacker has prioritized staying at Man Utd, a stance that has been reiterated to the club chiefs.
PSG have not yet made a formal bid for Rashford, and it remains to be seen if they will. But Man Utd are unlikely to consider letting Rashford leave the club in a summer in which they have been looking for attacking reinforcements.
Rashford is a Man Utd academy product. He rose through the ranks at the club and made his senior team debut for the Red Devils in 2016.
He has since featured heavily for Man Utd. Rashford has so far made 304 appearances for Man Utd and has scored 93 goals for the Old Trafford outfit.
Rashford’s current contract with Man Utd expires next year. However, the Red Devils are not under pressure to sell the forward as they have the option to extend it for another year.
Rashford is also expected to be a key player for Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag.
He had started for Man Utd in their Premier League season 2022/23 season opener vs Brighton & Hove Albion. Rashford played the entire match as Man Utd succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
PSG have already made several additions to their star-studded squad. The Portuguese midfield duo of Renato Sanches and Vitinha have been signed from LOSC Lille and Porto respectively. Both players have joined PSG on a five-year contract.
PSG have also signed 20-year-old French striker Hugo Ekitike on loan from Reims. 24-year-old French right-back Nordi Mukiele has also signed for PSG on a five-year contract.
The defending Ligue 1 champions have also been linked with a move for Fabian Ruiz from Napoli. Ruiz has already agreed on personal terms with PSG, and the French side is now discussing a transfer fee with Napoli.
