Real Madrid Dealt With a Big Injury Blow Ahead of the Clash Against Liverpool

The Frenchman is also unavailable for the weekend game against Osasuna. The Real Madrid medical staff have advised Carlo Ancelotti to rest Benzema for the La Liga game.

Just this midweek he scored a brace against Elche. However, he suffered bruises in the game against Elche as well. But the bigger concern for Ancelloti will be to find a replacement for the club captain.

The club captain has been in talismanic form in recent times. It has been often seen that Los Blancos struggle without him in front of the goal. This season as well he has scored 16 goals in all competitions.

However, it is important to note that this season he has suffered many injuries this season. Also, it is not only his goals he provides much more than that to Real Madrid.

The former Lyon striker is often the linchpin for linking up Los Blancos built up. While his aerial presence inside the box adds some meat to Real Madrid’s attack.

Not only this with him on the pitch, Los Blancos players will also believe that they can get something out of the game. Los Blancos could also be without Toni Kroos for the game.

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Alvaro Rodriguez will be in the squad for the game against Elche. Uruguay is an 18 years old striker from Real Madrid Castilla.

The youngster has been in impressive form at Castilla this season. He was also part of the Uruguay team that lost in the final of the U-20 World Cup. Rodriguez scored five goals in seven games in that tournament.

However, La Liga is completely different and more challenging for him. But he will be hopeful of using his physicality to impress his Italian manager. The Castilla striker is 193 cm tall i.e he is 6’3 inches tall. Even Ancelotti pointed out that his height will be useful for the team.

He said “….A profile we don’t have: very tall, he’s a good header of the ball… He can help us.” As for Real Madrid fans, they will be hopeful that Benzema is fit and firing for the next round against Liverpool
