Real Madrid news: Casemiro has rubbished suggestions he is leaving Los Blancos for money.
Casemiro will become Man Utd’s fourth signing of the summer, after Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, and Christian Eriksen.
Casemiro will see a significant rise in his salary following his move to Man Utd. There were a few suggestions that Casemiro left Real Madrid for the bumper contract awaiting him at Man Utd.
“I think they are few and they don’t know me. It’s not because of money. They are wrong. That is not the case,” Casemiro added.
Casemiro also described Man Utd as one of the biggest teams in the world. He said: “People should not forget the club I’m going to, the biggest team in the world that can compete with the greatness of Real Madrid, even if they can’t do it now.”
Casemiro has been at Real Madrid since 2013, barring for a season-long loan spell at Portuguese side Porto in 2014/15.
During his time at Real Madrid, Casemiro forged a great partnership with Luka Modric and Casemiro. The trio was important for Real Madrid as they won the Champions League last season.
Casemiro has won the Champions League a total of five times with Real Madrid. He first tasted European glory with Real Madrid in the 2013/14 season. He also won the coveted tournament thrice in a row with the Spanish giants in 2015/16, 2016/17, and 2017/18 seasons.
Casemiro has also won the La Liga, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup thrice each during his time at Real Madrid. He has also won the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana with Real Madrid.
During his time at Real Madrid, Casemiro featured in 336 games for the Spanish club. He made 48 appearances for Real Madrid last season as they won La Liga and Champions League.
