Real Madrid News: Luka Modric Insists Casemiro Departure Won’t Affect Club

Real Madrid news: Luka Modric has explained why Casemiro’s departure to Manchester United will not affect the Spanish side.

Casemiro left Real Madrid in the summer transfer window for Man Utd. The Brazilian midfielder has joined Man Utd on a four-year contract.

Casemiro also won the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup thrice each with Real Madrid during that time. He also won the Copa del Rey once and Supercopa de Espana thrice with Los Blancos.

Despite Casemiro’s departure in the second half of August, Real Madrid did not make any new additions to the squad. The defending La Liga champions, though, had signed Aurelian Tchouameni earlier in the transfer window.

Modric has now admitted Real Madrid lost an important player in Casemiro. But the Croatian said Real Madrid have a lot of good players to replace the Brazilian international.

Modric insisted Real Madrid is well equipped in the midfield department despite Casemiro’s sale to Manchester United.

He added: “[Aurelien] Tchouameni has adapted really well. This is [Eduardo] Camavinga’s second year and he had a great first year. [Toni] Kroos has been here for a long time. [Federico] Valverde is also doing really well in any position. [Dani] Ceballos is helping the team a lot. We’re well equipped in this position.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have had a stellar start to the 22/23 season. They began it by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup final.

Real Madrid also sits top of the La Liga table with 12 points from their first four fixtures. They have won all four matches they have played so far in the Spanish top-flight this season.

Real Madrid also kicked off their Champions League 22/23 campaign in style, defeating Celtic 3-0 in their opening fixture.
