Sergio Aguero Could Not Believe the Exit of Lionel Messi From Barcelona

After starting his football at Newell’s Old Boys, Lionel Messi joined the youth setup of FC Barcelona at a very early age. The Argentine forward then graduated from the Barcelona academy and was promoted to the senior team.

After his promotion, he did not take much time to settle. Lionel Messi became one of the best ever players to play the game of football. He won everything for the Catalan giants. His love for Barcelona was unparalleled. So it was often thought that the Argentine will only retire in a Blaugrana shirt.

Things however did not unfold as he would have wanted. Barcelona went into a huge financial turmoil due to their grave mismanagement. As a result, the Catalan giants failed to register the contract of Lionel Messi and the Argentine forward had to leave the club.

Aguero is one of the dearest friends of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi. Having played together at the national colours, since their youth days, the duo finally won their first major honour for the country when they lifted the Copa America last year.

After this Aguero joined FC Barcelona on a free transfer. It was thought that they will now continue their partnership at the club level too.

Even Aguero himself was really excited to play alongside his countrymen. So when it was announced that Lionel Messi will not be continuing at Barcelona, it came as a huge shock to the forward.

He added, “I decided to wait, but the hours went by and I saw that the statement was still there. Suddenly, I thought, ‘Hey, you know what? no one has hacked it.”

After the exit of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero could play only five matches for the Catalan giants. The former Manchester City player had to take an early retirement from football owing to a heart condition.

Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal. He had a tough season in France where he scored only six goals in the Ligue 1. Despite this, he managed to win his maiden Ligue 1 title.

This time around, Lionel Messi has got a great start to the season. The PSG forward has already netted nine goals and provided ten assists in all competitions. He will now lead Argentine in the upcoming Qatar World Cup 2022.
