Thierry Henry Makes Gabriel Jesus Claim Amid Arsenal Star’s Goal Drought
Thierry Henry has warned Arsenal that Gabriel Jesus is not a striker who can score 25 to 30 goals a season.
Arsenal signed Jesus in the summer transfer window, landing the Brazilian attacker from Premier League rivals Manchester City. Jesus has largely been impressive for Arsenal and has already racked up five goals for the north London outfit.
However, he has failed to score a goal for Arsenal in his last five appearances for Mikel Arteta’s men. He was also wasteful in front of the goal in Arsenal’s previous fixture in the Premier League.
Jesus missed three chances against Southampton as Arsenal dropped two important points after a 1-1 draw with the Saints.
Speaking on CBS Sports, Henry claimed Jesus is not a striker who is going to score 25 to 30 goals a season. Henry, however, also said Jesus can put more pressure and that what he does is contagious.
Arsenal takes on PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League group stage in their next match. Speaking ahead of the game, Jesus addressed the goal drought he is now on.
Jesus said it is part of football and the goal drought will happen again, but insisted he will try and 100% score a goal in his next match for the Gunners.
Arsenal enjoys a two-point lead over Man City, who are the defending champions and sit second in the points table. The Gunners have nine wins, a draw, and a defeat so far in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal also enjoys a 100% win record in the Europa League this season. The English outfit has played four matches in the competition this season and has secured wins in all of those. They top Group A with 12 points from four matches in the Europa League 22/23 season.
