Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in Race for Juventus Midfielder Adrien Rabiot
After spending time in the academy of Creteil, Manchester City and Pau FC, Adrien Rabiot joined the academy of Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder soon graduated from the Paris Saint-Germain youth setup and was promoted to the main team. he then was sent on loan to Toulouse for getting more game time. Rabiot returned from the successful loan spell and became one of the most important players for the PSG team.
The midfielder won eighteen major honours with PSG including five Ligue 1 titles. Finally, in 2019, Adrien Rabiot joined Juventus on a free transfer. The midfielder has already represented France in international football. He was a part of the French team that won the UEFA Nations League 2021.
After a poor last season, Barcelona have made a flurry of signing in the summer transfer window. They have got a good start to their season. But the Blaugrana management knows that their transition is still not complete.
Hence they are looking to sign more players in the upcoming window. However, Barcelona have financial issues so they have decided to mainly look at players who can join them on a free transfer.
Adrien Rabiot’s contract with Juventus is going going to expire the next summer. Hence they are looking at the possibility to sign the midfielder. Barcelona tried to sign the French midfielder when he was in Paris Saint-Germain. The deal however did not happen. Now they are looking to sign the midfielder once again.
They will be rivalled by Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid signed Rodrigo de Paul in 2021. However contrary to his national team performances, the Argentine has not been able to deliver for Atleti. Simeone’s team needs some new faces in the midfield. So they are looking at quite a few midfielders and Juventus midfielder Rabiot is one of them.
Now despite a slow start to his Juventus career, Rabiot has been one of the best performers of the Bianconeri this season. Allegri’s team surely will want to renew his contract. But their financial struggles might just not help them to do so.
Earlier Rabiot was linked with a move to English Premier League club Manchester United. But the deal never happened. So he stayed at Juventus.
Rabiot and Juventus will play against Benfica in the next match. If Allegri’s team doesn’t get a victory from this game, they will be out of the UEFA Champions League.
