Bernardo Silva Confident Manchester City Will Defeat Real Madrid in UCL Semi-Final
Bernardo Silva is confident Manchester City will get the better of Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final and book their place in the final of the competition.
Manchester City secured their passage to the Champions League semi-final after securing a 4-1 aggregate win over Bayern Munich. The Premier League side had brushed Bayern Munich aside with a 3-0 win in the first leg. Bayern needed to overturn that three-goal deficit in the second leg but could only manage a 1-1 draw.
Real Madrid cruised to 2-0 wins in both legs against Chelsea to secure a 4-0 aggregate win over the Stamford Bridge outfit. Manchester City and Real Madrid had met in the Champions League semi-final last season, it was the latter who emerged on top that time. Real Madrid would go on to win the Champions League title that season.
Manchester City will be aiming for revenge when they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.
Speaking after Manchester City played out a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the quarter-final second leg, Bernardo Silva said he is confident his team will go through to the final of the Champions League.
Manchester City, meanwhile, remains in contention for three titles this season. In the FA Cup, they have qualified for the semi-final where they will square off with Sheffield United. Pep Guardiola and co. are also in the Premier League title race. They trail table-toppers Arsenal by four points but have a game in hand over the Gunners.
In the Champions League, they will battle Real Madrid for a place in the final of the competition.
Meanwhile, the Champions League semi-final first leg between Real Madrid and Manchester City will kick off at 12:30 am Indian Standard Time on May 10. The first leg will be played at Santiago Bernabeu.
