Jose Mourinho Comes Under Fire From FIFPRO

FIFPRO, a professional footballers’ association, has criticized Jose Mourinho, the manager of AS Roma, for his treatment of Rick Karsdorp.

They have accused Mourinho of leading a “mobbing campaign” against Karsdorp, who has been ostracized from the squad after Mourinho accused him of having a “poor attitude” and “betraying his teammates.”

Mourinho has reportedly told Karsdorp to seek a transfer to a new club in the January transfer window.

Initially, Mourinho did not publicly name Karsdorp as the player he was criticizing, stating after a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo last month that a single player negatively impacted the team’s performance.

During a press conference after the 1-1 draw against Sassuolo, Mourinho expressed frustration with one player’s performance and attitude, stating: “I am sorry that the attitude of one unprofessional player betrayed the efforts of the team.

He betrayed all the others. I didn’t talk about [Roger] Ibanez against Lazio like that because the attitude was top. But the unprofessional and incorrect attitude that is not fair to his teammates is what disappoints me.”

The former Chelsea manager said he was pleased with the attitude of 15 out of the 16 players on the field during the match.

Mourinho stated that he was unhappy with the attitude of one player, whom he did not name, and that this player had “betrayed everyone else’s effort.” He said that this player needs to find a new club in January.

FIFPRO has issued a statement condemning AS Roma’s treatment of Rick Karsdorp, who they claim has been subjected to a “mobbing campaign.”

The statement accuses the club of publicly labeling Karsdorp a “traitor,” failing to address or apologize for this hurtful and baseless accusation, making him the subject of an unjustified disciplinary case.

Additionally, the union claims that Karsdorp has faced confrontations and abuse from fans and his family due to these accusations.

FIFPRO alleges that the allegations and disciplinary action against Karsdorp are being used to distract from the club’s poor performances and put pressure on the player unfairly.
